Weekly Reading

The Fixed Field

What is foundational, inherited, or structurally true?

The Fixed Field comprises the reality that we interact with daily. It's the physicality that we crave when we are Spirit. It gives our existence context and friction. It allows our souls to feel the experience of growth and expansion—why I believe we incarnate at all.

Core Themes Include: Reality. Limits. Ancestry. Trauma. Body. Time, Ability, Generational Inheritance, Climate, Politics, Family Dynamics, Born Circumstance, Culture, Collective Lessons.

Purpose of Fixed Field: To witness what is—not to fix, but to understand. To move around. The fixed field gives us context. It is the walls, the floor, the ceiling, the fabric of our reality that allows us to work on our soul's expansion.

This was not something you choose for yourself. This is the shared space we co-habitate and the rules that go within it. This part of our life can't be fixed (at least not right away) but it can be altered. It can be impacted.

We can't change the laws of gravity so you can fly... but with innovation and creativity and belief, humans have found a number of ways to take to the sky. With planes, parasailing, bungee jumping, hang gliding... Humans have found a way to work within the walls of the Fixed Field.

Identifying the Fixed Field takes a bit of practice but understanding that this isn't ours to fix but to witness can make massive changes in your personal life.

Spiritual restriction and boundaries are sacred. They pressure they put on you, the doors they close, are all very necessary to your soul's expansion. They are the labyrinth walls we must traverse and when you stop trying to run through them, it gets a little easier.

Ask:

  • Is this apart of a larger collective issue that I'm attempting to impact?

  • Am I trying to heal something that may never fully go away?

  • Is this able to be changed by individual effort or behavior changes?

  • Does this “block” feel dense, immovable, or ancestral in nature?

  • Is this about a personal limitation… or one inherited by my generation?

  • How are the boundaries of the Fixed Field trying to encourage me to expand in a certain direction?

  • What does my nervous system believe about this challenge—and where did it learn that?

Clues You’re Operating within the Fixed Field:

  • The issue repeats across generations, cultures, and history. Topics like bigotry, racism, colonialism, capitalism, disability, time, death. It doesn't mean you can't impact it but it will take effort, energy, and patience. These are collective journeys and while individuals can (and DO) impact them, they have a larger purpose. Dismantling and healing the collective is OUR shared journey with our ancestors. It doesn't all fall on us. We are apart of it. Extending it. Progressing it.

  • The issue feel unmovable. This one will be difficult to identify at times and will require spiritual discernment and intuition. Ask yourself honestly if this issue could be removed by enough action or intention or if it feels like something that is meant to be understood by living through it.

  • The problem feels physical, environmental, or karmic.

  • You’re seeking to eradicate a non-negotiable. (Healing, death, time, loss, aging, identity expansion).

Systemic Privilege, Collective Weight & Conscious Engagement

One of the heaviest aspects of the Fixed Field is systemic inequality—the deeply embedded structures of power, privilege, and marginalization that shape our lives before we ever speak a word.

This visual map offers a lens into how privilege and marginalization show up across many categories: housing, citizenship, ability, gender, body, neurodivergence, and more.

None of us exist in just one section.

We are all walking contradictions—privileged in some rings, marginalized in others.

This is the immovability of the Fixed Field.

You didn’t choose it.

You didn’t manifest it.

But it still shapes your terrain.

And just like the laws of physics or the truth of death it’s not your personal failure to be impacted by these systems.

It’s simply the landscape you’ve been given to navigate.

So what do we do with this?

We get clear on two things:

  • Where we hold privilege, and how we can use that responsibly to redistribute power, safety, and awareness.

  • Where we hold marginalization, and how we can care for ourselves without surrendering joy, rest, or identity to constant struggle

You are not meant to solve oppression single-handedly.

You’re meant to locate yourself within the web of privilege and harm and then respond ethically, collectively, and sustainably.

This means:

  • Joining causes that matter to you without becoming their only fuel

  • Naming systems clearly without collapsing under them

  • Refusing to surrender your creativity and joy to a system that never intended to nourish you

  • Recognizing the Fixed Field and discovering ways to move within it's confines, allowing it to shape you instead of bury you

The Fixed Field is not where we achieve utopia.

It’s where we become the ancestors of our collective future liberation by making enough space for others to do the same and empowering our descendants with emotional and material inheritance.

So we ask:

  • What parts of this wheel were inherited and what am I doing with that inheritance?

  • Where do I have reach, voice, or resource and how am I using it?

  • Where do I feel exhausted, obligated, or erased and how can I root myself back into joy?

This is what it means to engage the Fixed Field without martyrdom.

Journal Prompts

Journaling Prompts

1 | What is asking to be understood by me, not solved by me?

What in my reality is encouraging the collective to heal? How can I release responsibility for a collective experience?

2 | How has denial to what is caused unnecessary suffering?

Where have I poured effort into pushing against reality instead of building within its shape?

3 | Can I soften into the structure that exists—without collapsing my hope for what’s possible?

What would it look like to surrender here, not as defeat, but as devotion to my soul's experience.
